Do you have a specialty?2026-01-16T13:52:46-08:00

In British Columbia, Registered Acupuncturists are not allowed to claim a specialty. Most practitioners, including myself, treat a vast scope of conditions in their practice; however, personal interest, experience, and continuing education of the practitioner can come into play.

I welcome all in my practice, regardless of age, gender, religion, or ethnicity; and aim to provide a safe and healing space for everyone. With a background in sociology and gender studies, I have a personal interest in psycho-emotional health, especially in relation to trauma. I work with many patients who experience anxiety, chronic pain, depression, insomnia, overthinking, lack of motivation, autoimmune diseases and post traumatic stress. In addition to my private practice, I provide community style treatments within a rehab program, with a focus on recovery from trauma and addictions.

Needless to say, as a mother and doula, I am thrilled to be able to offer support to families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, through Chinese Medicine and birth work.

How often should I come in for treatments?2026-01-16T13:52:46-08:00

The recommended frequency of treatments depends on your unique condition. As a general rule, chronic conditions require a consistent frequency of treatments through a longer period of time. Typically, a treatment plan would be provided for you during your initial visit.

Does Acupuncture hurt?2026-01-16T13:52:46-08:00

It doesn’t have to!

Acupuncture pins vary in length and gauge. You can fit over 30 acupuncture needles in the opening of a hypodermic needle, they are tiny. The length of the needles often doesn’t correspond the strength of sensations you get either.

Pain is not a desired sensation during an acupuncture treatment. A feeling of heaviness, warmth, or tingling are more common descriptions. At any point during the treatment, you can ask your practitioner to readjust or remove the pins if you are uncomfortable.
